  3. Here are some features and other items of note for DropStuff w/ Expander Enhancer. For more detailed information and instructions please read the documents “DropStuff™ Read Me” and “Expander Enhancer Read Me” located in the “Read Us First!” folder.

  6. Compresses and expands items faster than previous versions. 
  7. Expander Enhancer now supports expansion of encrypted zip files.
  8. Expander Enhancer now supports expansion of Mime/Base64 encoded files.
  9. Expander Enhancer now supports expansion of LHA encoded files.

  11. DropStuff Shortcuts
  12. •    Holding down the control key will delete the original after stuffing is finished. You are not warned, so use this feature carefully. (Note: If you are on OS 8, hold down the control key after you begin to drag the item. This prevents the contextual menu from being invoked.)
  13. •    Holding down the option key brings up the one-time preferences dialog. Any preferences you set in the preferences dialog will be used for the current stuffing operation only.
  14. •    If you drop a StuffIt archive on DropStuff with BinHex encoding turned on, the archive will just be BinHexed (as opposed to being re-stuffed and BinHexed).

  16. What gets added to StuffIt Expander
  17. When DropStuff w/ Expander Enhancer is installed, it enables StuffIt Expander to expand files compressed with virtually every compression format found on the Macintosh, Unix systems, and IBM-PCs and compatibles. These include formats from Macintosh, Unix, and IBM-PCs and compatibles machines like Mime/Base64, gzip (.gz), TAR (.tar), Unix Compress (.Z), UUcode (.uu),  and ZIP (.zip), including encrypted zip files. StuffIt Expander will also be able to expand StuffIt SpaceSaver files and join StuffIt segmented files.

  19. In addition, expansion of StuffIt, Compact Pro, BinHex, ZIP and ARC files will occur at accelerated speeds on a Power Macintosh (expansion of a sample StuffIt archive happens more than 5 times faster on a Power Macintosh 6100/66 than on a IIci).

  23. DropStuff 4.0
  24. Compresses and expands items faster than previous versions. 
  25. Expander Enhancer now supports Tar files (.tar).
  26. DropStuff will now replace files when asked instead of just renaming on a collision.
  27. The “delete originals” and “encrypt” checkboxes in the Stuff dialog are now set to match the preferences. 
  28. Fixed a problem involving Type 11 errors on PowerPC’s when using DropStuff to stuff certain files.
